Best-in-Class Companies Succeed with Best-in-Class Technologies
10:00am - 11:30am
Jaime Metcalfe | Market Development Manager | Mentor Graphics
Industry analysts have identified six best practices used by Best-In-Class electronics companies that have enabled them to meet their aggressive business goals. This presentation will discuss those best practices, relate them to technologies provided in the Expedition Enterprise flow, and give specific customer examples of how they employ these in their PCB systems design processes.

Using HyperLynx PI to Automate Voltage Drop and Current Capacity Analysis
1:00pm - 1:50pm
Gregg Wilson | President | CADvantage
During this session, CADVantage will describe how they used HyperLynx PI to automate the analysis of voltage drops and current capacity on their customer's PCB. This new methodology using HyperLynx PI no longer requires the time consuming and error-prone process of manual measurements and manual calculations.

Managing Real-World Complexity of Signal and Power Integrity
2:00pm - 2:50pm
Christian Filip | Senior Hardware Engineer | General Dynamics Canada
As complexity of the real world design grows, modeling and applications of signal and power integrity analysis techniques also become more complex than many CAD tools can support.  This presentation discusses the benefits of using tools, like HyperLynx, while presenting some ideas on how to manage real world models, and analysis requirements.  Included in the discussion will be industry modeling trends, benefits of using time and frequency domain analysis, potential limitations, and setup techniques for analyzing issues in complex DDR designs and their power networks.  It will conclude with some comparisons to lab measurements.  Knowing when current techniques can be supported directly in an analysis tool like HyperLynx, and how to adapt modeling techniques to what is available from device suppliers will help all designers insure their designs work first time in the field.

TDR-Based S-Parameters: How to Make the Measurement and Verify that they are Simulation-Ready
3:00pm - 3:50pm
Alan Blankman, Ph.D. | Technical Product Marketing Manager, Signal Integrity | LeCroy
S-parameters have become central to the workflow of the signal integrity engineer. In this presentation, we will discuss S-parameter measurements and how to verify that the measurements are ready for simulation, and how to spot problems that might lead to simulation issues.
